Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q) Do I have to enrol in a program or sign up for a course?
A) Casa de Latino classes run on a weekly basis. Registration for a course is not required. Students are
welcome to come along weekly and pay as they go.
Q) Are there specific term periods/dates?
A) Whilst the syllabus is repeated every 7 weeks, there isn’t a specific term as such. There are basic steps
which are taught / revised each week with new figures added in each lesson. Regardless of when in the 7 week period
you join, you will still be able to learn all of the syllabus steps.
Q) Do I need a partner?
A) Partners are not required. The classes give you an opportunity to learn your steps and practice them with
different partners.
Q) What should I wear?
A) We recommend that, whilst learning, you wear comfortable clothing and shoes that will not restrict your
movement. It is preferable for ladies to wear medium to low heels and if possible, that both guys and ladies wear
leather or suede soled shoes.
Q) Do I need Private Lessons?
A) Not necessarily. The Casa de Latino classes are run in a format so as to teach you how to dance, whilst
maintaining the fun and social atmosphere which is typical of Salsa dancing. All figures and step patterns are
revised regularly. However, private lessons are available on a casual basis for $70.00 per hour. Please see
Richard for bookings or more information.
